Duck Hunting Adventure in North Dakota with Campus Waterfowl

Before diving into our thrilling adventure in North Dakota, we invite you to get to know Jack, Austin, and AJ from the North Dakota State College of Science through our latest podcast. Their passion for waterfowl hunting and their unique perspectives set the tone for our unforgettable journey.

The Thrill of the Hunt

Our journey began with a thrilling duck hunting adventure on public land. Despite the challenging foggy conditions, Austin got a shot at a blazing drake Canvasback. The King came into the decoys fast and mighty, sounding like a group of teal! The excitement and joy of shooting a Canvasback for the first time made this hunt truly special.

From Field to Plate

After our hunt, it was time to savor the fruits of our labor. Austin Reuter took us through a quick and easy duck fajita recipe, transforming the morning's harvest into a great college meal. Freshness and a little help from a fajita seasoning packet made this culinary experience one for the books.

A Rare Find in North Dakota

Our North Dakota adventure took another exciting turn when we encountered our first ever Black Duck on Campus Waterfowl. Hearing Jack's excitement while he retrieved his first Black Duck will be a moment none us us will forget. What made it more memorable was the conversation with his dad immediately when he returned to the blind. Overall it was an exciting morning and we hope you enjoy the hunt just as much as we did!

In Conclusion

Our time in North Dakota was a testament to the passion and dedication of the Campus Waterfowl community. From the thrill of the hunt to the joy of sharing our experiences with fellow hunters, every moment was a celebration of the waterfowl hunting tradition.

We'd like to extend a special thank you to Kent Cartridge and Benelli for sponsoring Season 5 of the Collegiate Waterfowl Tour. Their unwavering support has been instrumental in bringing these adventures to life.
